Visiting any church for the very first time can be an uncertain experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Calvary Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home"! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

What should I expect during the service?

The Sunday morning worship service consists of singing of hymns and some choruses, music from the choir and soloists, duets, trios, or ensembles, Bible reading, prayer, and a sermon. Someone from the platform will ask the congregation to stand at certain times, such as for the hymns. The sermon as it is from God's Word is the central part of the service - it lasts about 45 minutes. It may be an explanation/application of a Bible passage, often as part of a series of messages with a biblical theme or a look at a subject about what the Bible says pertaining to it. It is always intended to explain what God's Word says and help to make sense of Bible principles for our life and time.

Where do I take my children?
At every service there is a safe, clean, and well-staffed nursery for children under three years old.  On Sunday mornings, for children three years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with friendly and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. During the morning service, we have KIDZ Church for ages 1st to 6th grade and TYKZ Church for those children 3 yrs to 5 yrs old.
Our buildings can seem a little confusing at first, but we would like to help make it uncomplicated for you as we help you find the nursery, appropriate classes, and services for each person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located in the foyer, at the entry doors and the Welcome Center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.

What about teens?
The teens attend a class for one hour, located on the 1st floor of the classroom building and then gather in the auditorium for the service that follows.

What should I wear?

There is not a dress code at Calvary Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and included on your visit here at Calvary Baptist!  Our focus is on your heart, not on what you wear.

Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don't invite you to Calvary Baptist for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

Other questions?
If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Calvary Baptist will be tremendous! We are here to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step on the church property! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
